Product Technology
Introducing the NanoScopeImagine being able to use an 18 gauge needle (1.27 mm) with a high resolution video camera inside to safely explore a knee joint in the office setting and directly view the landscape of an injured meniscus on your IPad or Windows Tablet. Imagine using an accessory Micro tool (also needle size) and shaving off a tear or gluing down a meniscal flap. Imagine being able to take stem cells and PRP and directly visualize structural defects and inject them with accuracy.
Direct Visualization and Instrumentation Technology
The Micro-Invasive Revolution
What we are describing here is a mini-Arthroscope that could be safely and routinely used in the office setting i.e. in a clean procedure room and NOT requiring the sterile field (and ancillary support) of an operating room. A device such as this sounds like something right out of “Star Trek”. It certainly is the “Holy Grail” for any doctor who uses injection technology to address Orthopedic-type issues. The exciting news is that we now have the technology to build it.
Enter the NanoScope, the next generation of Percutaneous Micro-invasive tools. The NanoScope will allow Orthopedists, Sports Doctors, Pain management Doctors and eventually even Family Doctors with some additional training, unprecedented diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. The direct visualization and instrumentation of a joint will become a simple and safe office procedure. As mentioned, the NanoScope VNS will become the new Arthroscope, only much smaller, disposable, and much less invasive. It will also be much safer, with a fraction of the risk of infection or adverse “collateral damage” (as well as being a fraction of the cost of a hospital-based OR- type procedure).
Importantly it will allow doctors a quick, easy and safe way to diagnose and treat many types of problems in the office setting.
For example, in the case of Regenerative Orthopedics, the NanoScope will optimize the effectiveness of stem cell/PRP treatments since it will allow direct visualization and precise placement of the biologic agents at the exact site of anatomic disruption. The NanoScope will have many uses for many specialties. One can hardly begin to imagine all the ways that such a tool could be used. The video needle video needle scope is destined to change the way medicine is practiced and become an indispensable aid to many types of medical specialists.
We in the medical community are all aware of the trend towards minimally invasive percutaneous procedures & the shift away from risky surgery.
The NanoScope will usher in a whole new family of “Percutaneous Micro-invasive tools” that will be the next step in finding new and better ways of repairing the small anatomic defects and disruptions that can cause so much pain and debility in patients.
Imaging (Ultrasound, x-ray, MRI), diagnostic, and guidance systems will eventually become an adjunct to direct visualization technology which will become the gold-standard of all types of surgeons and interventional specialists.
